Amen to this. I’m reading a book called “Creatrix” right now and I am reminded of the pure joy of self-expression. Some things are for others, but some things/ words/ art are just for me.
Just aging seems to do it for me.. I am 64 and I have found that the older I get the less I give a shit about being on display, and the more I am like "you get what you get".
Just today (a few minutes ago actually) I deleted my Facebook. Then I read your Experiment with Silence here. My mind is blown! I had been contemplating removing myself from social media because I too was not having anything to say lately. I hope to get a lot out of this experiment. Thank you, Kaitlin!
wow! i have gotta say, i just can't believe how serendipitous this is. this morning i subscribed to kaitlin's blog because of my curiosity with the meaning of liminality - a new term for me that i am learning about. and now THIS post! i turned 50 on the weekend & as a gift to myself i deleted my IG account. i too have been questioning how & what i display on there. ps. thank you for all your work kaitlin, i have really enjoyed it!
I have been noticing when my actions are a desire for attention (attention, control, security as described by Thomas Keating) Many times I am seeking attention. Trying to discern true sharing from false display. tricky! thanks for the thoughtful post today...

I love this and YES! We need to claim and keep what is ours, what sustains us. Love you

I am so glad you are here, and happy birthday! I think spending time with yourself and learning your own ways of healing is a beautiful birthday gift.
That is wild! Cosmic, spiritual, and just wild!
