What will the future of The Liminality Journal look like? Recently I asked you all to vote on three possible future projects for this space, and you answered!
Many of you are interested in a podcast, and many of you got excited about reading books and hearing from authors. So, I’m excited to share that we will be doing all three!
The future of The Liminality Journal is about books, words, stories, and embodiment. I can’t wait to journey with you.
So, here’s what’s next:
The Liminality Journal Podcast. Don’t worry. I’ll be the first to admit that I actually don’t love podcasts, because I’m a visual learner and not an audible one. That’s why these short reflections will also be included as text. Do you need a few minutes to sit and read? Please do! Do you need to stop, close your eyes, and listen? Do that, too! The Liminality Journal Podcast is a space where I want us to slow down, pause, and take in a story, a meditation, a poem, an idea, and allow it to sit in us, with us, a while. I’m really looking forward to it.
Book Space! I don’t believe in Book Clubs because I think books must be for everybody and clubs feel, well, clubby. I also don’t want to tie us down to a book study because we’ve all got lives to live. So instead, we will explore together! I’ll bring a book to our space, and we will ask questions about it. We will explore a few topics from it. Whatever it looks like, this space will be free to move and take shape in different ways along the way. Can’t wait.
Author Interviews & Poetry Swaps! I will continue doing author interviews and poetry swaps with other writers, and I can’t wait to share their work with you! There are so many incredible books out and coming out next year, I can’t wait to share some of them with you as we support the authors. Let me know the books and authors you’re excited about!
These three different components won’t necessarily happen in any order. One day you’ll get a podcast, another day you might get an author interview and/or you’ll be introduced to a new book. But I’m excited to share the direction we’re going together as we continue to celebrate words, community, and the liminal spaces where we meet with one another.
In the meantime, please share The Liminality Journal with friends who might love a short meditation, poetry, and the celebration of books and their incredible authors.
Thanks for being here, friends.
To end, here’s a picture of me overlooking a lake, wearing my favorite Indigenous People’s Day hoodie from Urban Native Era.
What are you doing for Indigenous People’s Day this year?
This is such a lovely space you've created, Kaitlin. So excited to see what's coming next. <3
I purchase their homemade soaps hand cream and all from the earth. It’s good stuff
