Eternity

My kid asked me

if I’d like to be

immortal

and I said

no.

I’d like to

believe

this life is

eternal, though,

that everything

we are today,

all the healing

and becoming,

and the life

that waits

for us tomorrow

lingers

and ripples

into the coming

generations

forever and ever.

in the dandelions

and I’ve been told
